Goodbye to Corporate America Log - Day 10

Stewart and I spent a long weekend in Los Angeles with his family and relative.  It was a beautiful warm and sunny weekend.  I always love Los Angeles.  I love the energy, the sun and the beautiful people down there.  We stayed with his aunt in Whittaker, about 25 minutes east of Pasadena and 20 minutes from Arcadia, home of Din Tai Fung America.  Din Tai Fung is THE dumpling restaurant to go.  The one in Arcadia is the only one in the US.  We always go there whenever we are down there.  Yummy!
Dumpling!
Just thinking about it now makes me hungry. J  The one strange thing about this weekend was that we had no internet access at all.   For 4 days!  I asked his aunt ‘Don’t you need internet access?’ ‘I have lived here for over 20 years and never needed it.’ she said.  Well…  I guess I can survive without it for a few days.

The complete offline experience wasn’t that hard to get used to.  After all, it’s probably better for my eyes anyway.  But thank God I got my new Blackberry Pearl.  This is the best invention on the planet for the online junkie.  I have access to email anywhere and anytime.  I got addicted to it when I was with my last company.

It is now 10:00 p.m. Sunday night March 11th.   It is still strange for me that I don’t have work tomorrow.  Well…  I do have work to do, but just not in an office building.  Just like the offline experience, I think I can get used to this.
