Dipping Now

Seth Godin is releasing a new book called The Dip. It is a book about quitting. The release of his book is very timely, at least for me.

Our society wants us to believe that quitters are losers. I, however, believe quitters are the brave ones. Our society wants us to believe that quitters are lazy. Little do they know how much harder the quitters work after they quit. Our society wants us to conform to its own system of excellence. Little do they know there are numerous alternative systems out there which might work just as well, if not better.

I left corporate America 34 days ago. This has been the best dip of my life. J

    Congratulations.

I’m in the middle of a dip right now, and it is good for many reasons. For one I have learned quite a lot about my own weaknesses and now know what complementary skills I will need to push the project forward.

I have also quit many parts of my strategy to focus on what is working; BFU will succeed. It is an exciting time, knowing the project is viable, knowing it will eventually emerge as an excellent solution for many.

Some may lament pieces I have quit, but those that remain are now stronger. Like you I rejoice in the best dip of my life.

See you on the other side.
