Brian Tracy Live Seminar Review

I had a wonderful time at the Live seminar last Friday.  The seminar took place in the Sacramento Convention Center.  We started our journey at about seven in the morning and it took us about 90 minutes to get there.

There were about 500 people there and I was a little bit surprise there weren’t more people.   I was so looking forward to seeing Brian as that was the first time I’ve ever seen him speak live after years of listening to his audio program.  We sat in the first row just to make sure we didn’t miss anything.  J

’s presentation was everything I expected plus more.  The focus of his presentation was on selling, but I was most drawn towards his discussion around the mindset of successful people.  His content and advice were extremely impactful.  He had great humor.  His personal stories were touching.  Every single word from Brian’s month was full of wisdom and depth.

Some of the Brian’s key lessons included:

  • We are guaranteed to double our income if we live long enough.
  • Most people do not accept responsibility and like to live in the “Someday Isle”.  Someday I will do this.  Someday I will go there.  This kind of self talk will never take you anywhere.
  • First thing you need to do now is to vote yourself off the “Someday Isle”. J
  • Mark Twain once wrote that there are a thousand excuses for every failure but never a good reason.
  • Things you fail to do have more impact than things you do.
  • Luck is not a strategy.  Watching “The Secret” is not a strategy.
  • The more you respect yourself, the more other people like you.

  • Your emotion is determined by how you interpret the world.

  • Successful people take action immediately.

  • If you do the right thing in a wrong order, it could kill you.

  • You become what you think about most of the time.  Why not all the time?  Because most young men would become young women if there is the case. J

  • You never see a negative baby.

  • You can lose your job, but don’t lose your mind.

  • The bigger the gift, the bigger the problem.

  • Fly with the eagles, not ducks.

  • Everything is a learnable skill.

  • Most people waste too much time looking for shortcuts.

  • Saddest words in life: “If only I have taken that step…”

Brian also had us wrote down our top 10 most important goals in 3 minutes.  It was a very short exercise, but it was extremely impactful.  Accordingly to Brian, it would not make a difference either we had 3 minutes or 30 minutes, the answers would be the same.  Then he asked us to prioritize these goals and pick the top 3 most important ones.  After finished picking the top three, he asked us to pick again, but this time only one goal which is the most important.  When we were done picking the most important one, he said “Now, this is your life purpose for this coming year.  Take action towards your goal everyday.”

I was astonished that he has decided that my life purpose for this year is my top goal.  “It is easy for you to say…”  I thought to myself.  But the more I think about it, he was right.  If I don’t put my top goal as my life purpose right now, how good is the goal?  How commit I would be?

I highly recommend Brian Tracy to anyone who wants to improve themselves and become more effective in life.  You can find out more about him at .
