The Money Series – Books that You Just Cannot Miss
Can you recommend some of your favorite books related to money and finance?
To be honest, I hated reading when I was growing up. I had a very short attention span and could barely sit still for more than an hour. As I got older, I realized I am actually an auditory learner which means instead of learning by reading, I learn better by hearing. With this discovery, I now listen to audio book everyday wherever I go.
Having said that, there are a few books that are truly special for me and I which were able to keep my attention glue to them. These books really kept me on the edge of my seat and I actually finished them by reading, not listening. I found these books contain some true wisdom and ideas that I wished I had learned in school but never did.
Here is the list:
1. Rich Dad Poor Dad I read this book about five years ago. This book caused a huge mental shift in my thinking. For most people this book is about financial literacy and independence. For me, it is a book about mental liberation and emotional independence from money. Robert Kiyosaki’s story about his two dads, a rich one and a poor one, was simple but profound.
2. Richest Man in Babylon This book was written over 70 years ago, but its ideas and principles are timeless. It teaches you about how to acquire money, keep money, and get out of debt through some very simple stories. It is a very short book that you can probably finish in a couple of hours, but the teaching from this book will last you a life time.

3. Secret of the Millionaire Mind Despite its not so attractive cover, I found this book refreshing and funny while really making you think about situations that happen in your life.
.
4. Think & Grow Rich This is another timeless classic that was written over 70 years ago. Napoleon Hill revealed the money secrets of Andrew Carnegie, the richest man in the world at his time. I believe this book is the foundation of all modern personal development books you find today.
.
5. The Science of Getting Rich This is the book that inspired the movie “The Secret”. I got this book a couple months ago for my birthday and I could not put it down. According to Wallace Wattles, the process of getting rich is like math and science. Any normal intelligence can get rich if they follow these laws described in the book. Wow… who would dare to make such claim today?
.
6. One Minute Millionaire I thought the title was really cheessy at the beginning. I had to drag myself to sit down and read this book for a while. And guess what? I finished this 388 pages book in two 2 days! And don’t forget - I used to hate reading. This book has a very interesting way to educate you about making money - by telling you a story! Can you imagine if you HAVE to become a millionaire in 90 days, this book will tell you how.
