If you said yes to any of the questions above, please stay focused here and read on.
Whenever you want to finish a task and you find yourself getting distracted, here is what you need to do:
Step 1: Turn It All Off
Turn off everything that beeps or makes a noise (i.e. cell phone, alarm, Outlook, and instant messenger). Why no Outlook? Well, you can’t be answering email all day long. No matter how many emails it is, it can wait.
Step 2: Eyes Closed
Close your eyes. Put yourself into a complete thinking mode.
Step 3: Deep Breath
Take a deep breath. Feel the freshness of oxygen filling your lungs and spreading throughout your body.
Step 4: Think Results
Think about all the beautiful images of your end results. You know the end results will be amazing. What do you see? A beautiful home? Many satisfied clients? A brand new car? Whatever it is, when you think about it, you will get excited.
Step 5: Think to Feel
Feel the excitement, happiness and joy when you get the task done. How good will you feel? Isn’t it amazing? What seemed impossible is now completed.
Step 6: Think Details
Think about all the small details of your task. The people you will meet. The meeting you will have. The phone call you will make. You know you always have all the answers inside of you. You know how well it will work from the very beginning. There is no need to look outside anymore. You know it.
Step 7: Open your eyes and get back to work!
Take your time and think about the details. When you are done, open your eyes and enjoy that sense of knowing and inspiration.
