Where Are You Going?

What is your plan for this New Year?

Where are you planning to take yourself this year?

I am not talking about traveling. I am talking about the journey of your life.

2007 has been an amazing year for me. I left corporate America, launched my website, and started a business helping other people search optimize their websites. I’ve been fortunate to have a fantastic business partner/friend and get to speak and teach people about something I am passionate about – internet marketing. I am very grateful for two entrepreneur meetup groups in San Francisco that I run. I’ve met some amazing entrepreneurs, a few which have become trusted mentors. My family is healthy and happy. Business is prosperous and growing, and my energy level is at an all time high!I have never felt this excited and energized before. I guess this is how you feel when you are working on something you really enjoy.

Is life really that simple?

1) Find out what you are good at.
2) Find a business or job that allows you to do what you enjoy
3) Keep on doing and learning
4) Help as many people as you can while doing it
5) Make money while you are adding value and doing what you love

I believe it is that simple.

When I talk with people about where I am going or what I think about how life should be.

They often say:
• It is not that simple
• Life is complicated
• I can’t…

May be I am just lucky (which I don’t believe is the case) or I’ve decided to drop those disempowering words from my belief system.

I think it’s the latter.

Flash back 27 years ago. My grandmother who took care of me since I was a baby passed away due to a heart attack.

My three year old self could not comprehend at the time and I remember asking my dad “Would grandma die?”

I remember my dad clearly said: “No. She will be fine.” She passed away that evening.

From that day on, I often thought about death. The more I think about it. The more I say to myself. Life is too short to waste even a second of it.

It doesn’t really matter what has happened or what just happened. All it really matters is what is going to happen now and what you are going to make of it while things are happening.

I no longer ask about death. It is going to happen no matter what. I want to spend time thinking about life and where I am going.

I want to put my whole heart at becoming the person I want to become.

I absolutely believe everyone deserves a wonderful life and that opportunities are truly everywhere. All you need is to open up your heart and decide.

Think About This
So… where are you going this year?
