Who Are You?
I spent a few days with Marty Neumeier last week and one of the exercises he made us do was to write our own company’s obituary. It was a fantastic exercise which really forces you to ask some tough questions about yourself and your company.
Who are you trying to be?
What are you really passionate about?
What motivates you and gets you up in the morning?
Here is my obituary for SFentrepreneur.com:

Goodbye to SFentrepreneur.com and Hello to SFentrepreneur.org
San Francisco, CA – SFentrepreneur.com, the entrepreneur community website that ignited millions of entrepreneurs and created billions of businesses closed for business last Friday 11:59 pm, one minute before their new site SFentrepreneur.org was launched.
Started ten years ago in San Francisco with just one chapter, the organization grew rapidly to over 350 major cities and established hundreds of “Idea Labs” all over the world. From Moscow to Mexico City, Delhi to Philly, SFentrepreneur enabled over 30 billion dollars worth of businesses and chartered seven major global initiatives (out of 150) including ending poverty in Bangladesh by 2020 by working with Mohammad Yunis and the Grameen Bank.
When a BBC reporter asked why she was closing down SFentrepreneur.com, founder Edith Yeung stated: “It is time for us to focus 100% on utilizing our 2.5 billion dollar foundation money and do something really good for the world. Our mission will never change. SFentrepreneur is where entrepreneurs meet to make a world of a difference. We believe we can make an even bigger difference with SFentrepreneur.Org.”

I challenge all of you to write down your own company’s obituary. What is your vision?

Hi Edith,
This so uplifting, something I did many years ago and you have inspired me to take time out this weekend to look at that viaions and see if it still matches.
I also am a great supporter of Gramen Bank and Mohammed Yunis
